Getting there by air, rail and road
Google maps can be confusing at times when you’re surrounded by the backwaters. Follow the instructions when approaching from two different directions.
From Kochi
Get on the Alleppey – Changanassery road until you hit the Pallathuruthy Bridge
Form here, drive straight for 3km till you reach the Pooppally Junction
From here, take a left and drive through a road flanked by paddy fields for 2km till you see a Spice Routes board on your right.
Drive into our 150 years old heritage home, which is also the boarding point for the houseboats.
From Kottayam, Thekkady & Changanassery
When driving from Changanassery towards Alleppey, get to the Nedumudy Bridge and drive 50meter ahead to reach the Pooppally Junction
From here, take a right and drive through a road flanked by paddy fields for 2km till you see a Spice Routes board on your right

Getting there by air, rail and road
The maze of canals, rivers, lagoons and islands through the lakes of Kerala is what constitutes the enchanting backwater landscape of Kerala. The closest air head to Alleppey is Ernakulam. Multiple daily flights from key cities of India are scheduled the airport.
Nearest Airport: Cochin (COK)
Cochin to Alappuzha (84km) takes 2.5-3 hrs to reach by road. Cabs and local buses are easily available
Railway Access
Ernakulam and Alleppey both have railway connectivity
Road Transport
Kerala State Road Transport Corporation (KSRTC) runs regular buses from key cities of South India to the backwater towns. AC Volvos with push back seats are comfortable enough for not more than 12 hours overnight journey.
